Join us for the debut of the Erehwon Ensemble as Kingston, New York’s first professional orchestra! From the beautiful, rarely heard Serenade for Strings by German composer Carl Reinecke to eclectic and colorful string orchestra music from Russia, Hungary and Finland, expect the unexpected from this innovative group of 21 musicians. We conclude with two works by American composers: the improvisatory Voodoo Dolls by Jessie Montgomery, and David Balakrishnan’s Skylife, head-banging rock-anthem inspired music for string orchestra. Don’t miss this extraordinary evening!​

Erehwon Ensemble offers an evening of colorful string orchestra music curated by Conductor and Music Director David Rudge. Don’t miss this unique concert experience with selections ranging from the Italian Baroque to Romantic era favorites by Dvořák and Grieg, to solo improvisations over the beautiful O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen and a powerful immersive work by Pauline Oliveros, an internationally known and celebrated composer who made her home in Kingston.
